A05

Immuno-editing via programmed cell death in SCLC

In A05, S. von Karstedt will address the timely question of how   evolution of SCLC is shaped by adaptive immunity-mediated selection   before clinical presentation. By understanding fundamental mechanisms   of SCLC immune-selection and escape, novel avenues for therapeutic   intervention will be identified. Based on the understanding that   chemo-naïve SCLC has gone through intense negative selection against   extrinsic apoptosis pathway components and antigen presentation, both   known to be involved in immune-escape, the development of SCLC in the   presence or absence of immune system-mediated selection will be   studied mechanistically in vitro and in vivo.
